was founded in 1979, celebrating its 30th birthday 2009! Our purpose is to document the age in which we are living, often connected to our immediate surroundings and their history. We do this by staging theatrical productions, giving usually more than 20 performances per production, sometimes with more than 50 people on stage and thousands of spectators, sometimes smaller, with just a couple of actors, fewer performances and a smaller audience, which invites familiarity. Our theatre group, a non-profit, non-political organisation, consists of members of all ages, children, teenagers and adults. They all participate on the same conditions, when deciding on productions, on stage. All actors are amateurs, some very experienced, some beginners. We never use auditions, everyone is welcome. We always cooperate with professionals: scriptwriters, directors, stage designers and composers (we use a lot of music). Our theatre group is ambitious, always trying to create high quality productions/performances. So far we have staged 31 plays.
Our Theatre House
Our much loved Theatre House was built in 1936 as the original Community House by workers in Kallhäll,
a small village within the municipality of Järfälla, about 30 kilometers north-west of the Swedish capital,
Stockholm. For many years it was used for gatherings, meetings, dances and even as a cinema. In the 60's
they built a new Community House, abandoning the old one. The building had been long neglected until
we took over, creating what is now a complete and cosy theatre, that some say has a "magical" effect on
those who come in, members as well as visitors.
A selection of some of our productions
"Johanna from Kallhäll"
This play was our first, produced twice, 1982 and 1983 - due to the immense public success - telling the story of Kallhäll and the people living there between 1900 and 1980.

"A Midsummer Night's Dream"
This play was performed 1998 in a park outside a castle by the shores of the lake Mälaren.
Sometimes the sun shone bright and warm, sometimes its rained heavily. No matter what, we had another big success.
Some critics, experts on Shakespeare, judged our performance among the best they had seen!

"Café August"
This production was performed 2006 by some of the members. It consisted of three parts: at first musical settings of poems by August Strindberg.
After that: café refreshments. Finally: the small Strindberg play, "Paria."
